Important Notice

Welcome to RydeRobin ("RydeRobin," "we," "us," or "our").

RydeRobin is a growing platform that may continue to evolve, improve, and change over time. By using RydeRobin, you acknowledge that features, functionality, and policies may change as the platform develops.

RydeRobin is a group travel coordination platform that helps students organize shared transportation arrangements and split travel costs with other students traveling to similar destinations.

RydeRobin:

  • does not provide transportation services
  • does not employ drivers
  • does not own, lease, or operate vehicles
  • does not act as a transportation carrier or transportation network company
  • does not control the conduct of users or transportation providers

Users are solely responsible for arranging and participating in any transportation coordinated through the platform.

By using RydeRobin, you agree that you use the Services at your own risk.

1. Eligibility

To use RydeRobin, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be enrolled at an accredited college or university
  • Register using a valid .edu email address
  • Agree to these Terms in full
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

You may not use RydeRobin if you have previously been suspended or removed from the platform.

2. Description of Services

RydeRobin allows users to:

  • Create and join group travel arrangements
  • Coordinate shared transportation with other students
  • Communicate through in-app messaging
  • Split travel-related costs among group members

RydeRobin only provides software tools for coordination and communication between users.

RydeRobin is not a transportation provider, carrier, broker, taxi service, rideshare company, or transportation network company.

Any transportation arrangement occurs solely between users or third-party transportation providers independently selected by users.

3. User Responsibilities

By using RydeRobin, you agree that you are solely responsible for:

  • Your interactions with other users
  • Your transportation choices and decisions
  • Verifying transportation details independently
  • Your conduct during any trip or meetup arranged through the platform
  • Complying with all laws and regulations

You agree not to:

  • Violate any law or regulation
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
  • Impersonate another person
  • Provide false information
  • Create fake accounts
  • Use the Services for fraud or unlawful activity
  • Solicit payments outside the platform in violation of applicable rules
  • Interfere with platform security or operation
  • Attempt unauthorized access to accounts or systems
  • Scrape, reverse engineer, or copy the Services without permission

RydeRobin may suspend or terminate accounts at any time for violations of these Terms or harmful conduct.

4. Messaging and Platform Features

RydeRobin may provide features including:

  • in-app messaging
  • route matching
  • travel group discovery
  • location-based functionality
  • group coordination tools

These features are intended solely to facilitate communication and coordination between users.

RydeRobin does not monitor, supervise, or control transportation arrangements made through the platform.

5. Group Management and Trip Resolution

Group Creator Authority

The user who creates a travel group ("group creator") has the ability to remove other members from that group at their discretion. Removal from a group by a group creator is distinct from a platform-level suspension and does not affect your ability to use RydeRobin generally. RydeRobin is not responsible for removal decisions made by group creators.

Group Cancellation

Open travel groups that have not been locked will be automatically cancelled by the platform approximately one hour after the scheduled departure time if no trip resolution has occurred. Members of auto-cancelled groups will be notified through the app.

Trip Resolution for Locked Groups

Once a travel group is locked, the trip outcome is determined by a majority vote among group members. Possible outcomes are:

  • Completed — the trip occurred as planned
  • No-show — one or more members failed to appear
  • Disputed — members could not reach agreement on the outcome

RydeRobin does not adjudicate disputes between users and is not responsible for outcomes resulting from the group voting process. Cost splits and any related adjustments are determined by the resolution outcome in accordance with the platform's cost-sharing rules.

6. Assumption of Risk

You knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks associated with using RydeRobin and participating in any activities coordinated through the platform.

These risks may include:

  • transportation accidents
  • injury or death
  • criminal acts or misconduct
  • harassment or disputes
  • theft or property damage
  • inaccurate user information
  • GPS or technical inaccuracies
  • actions of third-party transportation providers or users

You understand that RydeRobin merely provides a coordination platform and is not responsible for events occurring during transportation or in-person interactions between users.

7. Safety Disclaimer

RydeRobin promotes trust and accountability through features such as:

  • .edu email verification
  • in-app communication tools

However, RydeRobin cannot and does not guarantee:

  • user safety
  • transportation reliability
  • vehicle condition
  • user honesty or conduct
  • protection from injury, accidents, crime, or misconduct

You are solely responsible for exercising judgment and caution when interacting with others through the Services.

If you feel unsafe, do not continue the interaction or transportation arrangement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RydeRobin and its founders, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, partners, and service providers shall not be liable for:

  • transportation accidents or injuries
  • death or bodily harm
  • user misconduct
  • disputes between users
  • property damage or theft
  • fraud or identity verification failures
  • payment disputes
  • interruptions or failures of the Services
  • lost profits or indirect damages
  • actions of third-party transportation providers or users

RydeRobin's total liability for any claim relating to the Services shall not exceed the amount paid by you to RydeRobin, if any, during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

9. No Warranties

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

RydeRobin disclaims all warranties including:

  • merchantability
  • fitness for a particular purpose
  • non-infringement
  • availability
  • reliability
  • accuracy
  • safety
  • uninterrupted operation

We do not guarantee that the Services will always function securely or without errors.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless RydeRobin and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and partners from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

  • your use of the Services
  • your interactions with other users
  • your participation in transportation arrangements
  • your violation of these Terms
  • your violation of any law or third-party rights

11. Accounts and Termination

RydeRobin may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts at any time for:

  • violation of these Terms
  • suspected fraud or abuse
  • illegal conduct
  • safety concerns
  • harmful behavior toward users or the platform

You may stop using the Services or request account deletion at any time.

Certain provisions of these Terms will survive termination, including liability limitations, indemnification obligations, and dispute resolution provisions.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

13. Arbitration and Class Action Waiver

To the fullest extent permitted by law, any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration in California.

You agree to waive:

  • the right to a jury trial
  • the right to participate in class actions
  • the right to participate in class-wide arbitration

Claims must be brought individually and not as part of a collective proceeding.

14. Force Majeure

RydeRobin is not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including:

  • natural disasters
  • internet outages
  • cyberattacks
  • government actions
  • labor disputes
  • infrastructure failures
  • third-party service outages

15. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms periodically as RydeRobin evolves and expands.

Updated Terms will be posted within the Services with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of RydeRobin after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
